This is a picture of Honolulu Police Department Officer Stan Cook, holding the AK-47 that John Sinapati, a driver of a vehicle that was stopped for traffic violation, pulled out and fired at Stan Cook. Officer Cook was hit by eight bullets from AK-47, but managed to subdue the attacker with his 9mm sidearm. It’s a good thing when luck meets good training. Attacker was later pronounced dead.

Officer Cook was back on duty within 4 months and 4 days after the shooting with more then fifty pieces of bullets in his body. Tough man.

I’ve got three video clips on this.

1. Compilation of TV news stories on this shooting, 16 minutes long.
