I love the Beretta M9. If some gets a hold of it while the safty is on and they have never held one they cant fire it. most people that have never shot before always think the safty is on the side of the gun not the top. My guess is this s what happened. with the gun on safe you can still pull the trigger, it just wont fire.I wish I was able to carry a back up.
I dont think the officer was wearing an M9/2 Baretta. from all the shots in the clip it was a Smith and Wesson. regardless, i would bet it was a locked safety and not a firearm malfunction that saved this guys life.
Well the dog and the gun safty are to thank for the safty of this office fucking hello thats why its called safty it so people don’t get hurt and all states sould make it manditor to cary a back up gun I live in portland oregon and if herd of people doing stuff like pulling the officers gun but that god for the tazer bucuase it has saved many officers lives
When I went threw the Academy Here in Alabama this is one of the videos we watched as our training. There are two parts they left out that will answer you questions. First off the weapon malfunctioned because the crack head hit the dog on the head, stove piping a round. Second the dog was not trained as an attack dog, the K-9 was only a drug dog not a bite dog. The K-9 was only doing what came naturally “Protecting her Master and fellow officer”
the gun didnt go off because the suspect hit the dog with the gun causing it to jam and the suspect didnt know how to clear the malfunction. so the dog was helpful if not for the k-9 the gun would not have jammed and the LEO would be dead!

He made a big mistake, but he stayed in the fight and won!
Departments that forbid officers to carry backup guns are run by idiots.
