There are two parts they left out that will answer you questions. First off the weapon malfunctioned because the crack head hit the dog on the head, stove piping a round. Second the dog was not trained as an attack dog, the K-9 was only a drug dog not a bite dog. If some gets a hold of it while the safty is on and they have never held one they cant fire it. most people that have never shot before always think the safty is on the side of the gun not the top. My guess is this s what happened. with the gun on safe you can still pull the trigger, it just wont fire.I wish I was able to carry a back up. I love the Beretta M9.
