Ex-Marine Shoots Down Cop Killer

CONCORD, N.H. - Video taken from Franconia Police Cpl. Bruce McKay’s cruiser shows him pepper-spraying the driver of a car he had stopped, turn away and walk off camera as the driver sticks a handgun out the window and fires repeatedly.

Authorities released the video Monday along with photographs and about 1,000 pages of transcribed statements from witnesses of the May 11 shooting that took McKay’s life.

A passing motorist who said he was trying to protect McKay picked up the gun and killed the driver moments later, but that shooting was not captured on tape.

The pepper-spraying and shooting lasts all of six or seven seconds. After McKay pushes Liko Kenney Kenney’s blue coupe off the road with his sport utility police cruiser, Kenney reaches out the driver’s side window and appears to wave someone away.

McKay, 48, strides up and sprays through the window. Kenney’s passenger is seen covering his face and turning away as Kenney reaches out with a handgun and starts firing.

Kenney then tries to leave - he drives over McKay’s body - but doesn’t get far. Moments later, also off camera, Kenney is shot dead by ex-Marine Gregory W. Floyd.

  1. RIP Officer.

But man, im not a cop but I would think that would be a good training video as what not to do to a guy who had run from you.

  2. This would be an execellent video for “all around” officer saftey. If this officer had a previous encounter with the suspect that required back-up forces he should of had another patrolman on scene before he approached the perp.. Also when you encounter the perp and have to use a level of force you do not, i repeat do not turn your back on him/her if you pepper spray him/her. This is taught as the first and most important rule in becoming a police officer in all academy’s. the only part that didnt make any since to me is that the ex-marine was able to run what appears to be approx 200-300 meter distance, shoot at an individual in a car, not hit the passenger, have his son call for help on the radio and kill perp. kenney in a little less than 7 seconds. why did he stay for the whole thing anyway? if we see someone get pulled over, we wait for the officer to stop (if the vehicle he is pulling over is in front of us) and then get the hell out of dodge. So as i stated before this is an outstanding video of what not to do on a traffic stop wether it be normal or high risk. any questions? please feel free to message me via email. maleigha.duran@hotmail.com

  3. I would agree that this would be a benificial training video, but what a sad way to obtain it. RIP

  4. Watching this video made me at once both disgusted and angry at the total disregard for value of life by the shooter kenney.

Although it is not a happy site to see violence of any kind, there is a sense of vindication that kenney ended up dead (with a bullet between the eyes I hope) by a citizen witness in defence of the brutal murder of the peace officer.

  5. Why don’t you tell the real fucking story asshole, that FUCKING PIG had been harassing that guy for over 5 years, and that fucking PIG got what he deserved! I hope more people will do the same to you fucking scumball PIGS!!!! You ALL deserve to fucking DIE!

    ASSHOLE!

  6. Ignoring anonymous because that’s the best he deserves, let’s move on to the tragedy.

One, Kenney is a murderer He deserved what came to him.

Two, Cpl. McKay was a negligent police officer who applied force to a suspect in a desultory way, then turned his back hastening his own death.

I don’t want to say he deserved it… in a moral sense. But in a tactical sense, he sure as heck did. He was a fool and died as a direct result.

Three, the passing motorist and son are heroes.

  7. The only person that gets to judge if someone dies is God. Cpl. McKay should have NEVER turned his back on Kenny. RIP and I send my best wishes to his family.

  8. The dashcam video of the first encounter shows what a low life Kenney was. McKay was far more patient than most officers. Yes, McKay had one other documented encounter with Kenney later prior to the fateful day but this is a small town. During the second encounter McKay took no direct action with Kenney but instead reported his info to the county attorney which resulted in the revocation of his bond for violating the terms of his bond. In our town of 250,000 people, officers deal with some of the same problem people every day. Where is the rule that you can’t arrest someone you have ever arrested before (or take other police action)? McKay has had absolutely no complaints in the last 7 years and 28 commendations during his 12 year career. That is the record of a hero and not a bully officer as a few have tried to suggest.

  9. Does anyone know if the officer did wear a bullet proof vest?

  10. just cuff him cops talk too much, thats why they get shot

  11. Use of poor tactics (as evidenced in the video) and a probable sense of complacency is what got this cop killed (obviously also from the shooter).

Sad way to have to learn…

    However, I’m glad Kenny’s dead.

  12. its a danm shame, that this officer did not remember his training. the kid who shot him deserved to die.

  13. These cops have no right to do what they do. Honestly, McKay deserved what he got . Too bad an innocent kid had to die for that.

  14. Cop got what he deserved I personally know the situation and any cop that maces someone and walks away is an idiot espically w/ the prior experiences w/ the cop. Second mace is a helper to subdue a criminal not the only force of action espically when no force nessesary. if the officer listened to liko kenny and called for back up rather than being the hardass he is hed still be alive today. Police brutality is wrong and liko finally did something about it. Kenny your in my prayers.

  15. mike, you obviously have no idea what necessary force or police brutality are. Personally, I would not have maced him and approached the vehicle at gunpoint. May Kenny RIP (Rot In Pieces).

  16. STUPID WHITE BOYS

  17. the only good pig is a dead
    one. :) nice one….

  18. wtf if it wasnt for law enforcment you wouldnt be typing what you did r.i.p McKay
