OPTION #1: sign the ticket, enjoy the rest of your day and argue it later in court. you might even get lucky, the officer might not even show up. OPTION #2: don't sign the ticket, comply with the officer's orders, get arrested (that's the way the law is written in the vehicle code), get transported, booked into jail and get released before the day is over.
